The University of Central Oklahoma College of Business has registered with the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. (CFP Board) to provide students the opportunity to sit for the CFP® Exam.
Students pursuing coursework in financial planning will be eligible to sit for the certified financial planning exam, upon completion of financial planning courses. Currently, 50 students are enrolled in the courses necessary for the CFP® Exam.
“CFP Board is pleased to approve the program at the University of Central Oklahoma as a CFP Board Registered Program,” said Blaine Aikin, chair of CFP board of directors.
“As student interest in financial planning as a career continues to grow, we anticipate that UCO’s program will contribute significantly to the number of qualified candidates seeking to attain the CFP® certification, the standard of excellence for competent and ethical financial planning.”
An independent certifying organization, CFP Board owns the CFP® and Certified Financial PlannerTM certification marks, which it awards to individuals who meet its education, examination, experience, ethics and other requirements. Students completing the financial planning coursework at UCO will have met the education requirement for CFP® Certification Examination, administered by CFP Board.
Today, CFP Board partners with more than 360 programs at more than 225 institutions. CFP Board Registered Programs are financial planning education programs at the college or university level that meet specific criteria for educating individuals who wish to fulfill the education component for obtaining CFP® certification.
