The Society for Human Resource management (SHRM) recently awarded the University of Central Oklahoma College of Business Human Resource Society the 2016-17 Merit Award for providing superior growth and development opportunities to student chapter members.
“The students were extremely dedicated and worked very hard to continue the growth of UCO Human Resources (HR) Society during the school year,” said Meagan Baskin, Ph.D., assistant professor of management and UCO HR Society adviser.
The SHRM student chapter merit award program began in 1972 and was created to encourage student chapters to require ongoing excellence in the following areas: student chapter requirements, chapter operations, chapter programming and professional development of members, support of the human resource profession and SHRM engagement.
“I couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments and the path they have paved for future chapter members here at Central,” Baskin added.
