The Southwestern Business Deans Association (SWBDA) recently awarded Holly Osburn, Ph.D., associate professor and director of leadership studies for the University of Central Oklahoma College of Business, the Bobby G. Bizzell Innovative Achievement Award at the SWBDA annual meeting in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Osburn received the award due to her work on developing the College of Business Leadership Initiative, including the Leadership Luncheons and 2BLeaders programs. This award includes a $1,000 cash prize to support her efforts.
“It was an honor for the 2BLeaders program to be recognized by this prestigious organization, where so many innovative and impactful programs were considered,” Osburn said.
“It is exciting to watch the 2BLeaders program changing students’ lives and the UCO College of Business for the better. It’s an unexpected bonus to receive an award for it.”
The 2BLeaders program engages students to take the next step in their leadership journey. Students must have declared a major in the UCO College of Business, be enrolled full-time, have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, have completed 60 hours, meet with an assigned mentor once a month and have a strong desire to lead. Students in the program receive a tuition waiver for the academic year, experience personalized coaching and participate in team-building and networking activities.
The Bobby G. Bizzell Innovative Achievement Award recognizes SWBDA business programs from institutions and is based on curriculum design, teaching, program development, outreach or administration.
