CPA Practice Advisor magazine recently named University of Central Oklahoma College of
Business alumnus Sibi Thomas as one of the recipients of its annual 40 Under 40 Awards. This award recognizes and honors young leaders throughout the nation that are positively shaping the accounting and tax profession.
Thomas graduated from Central with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). He is currently a partner at Marks Paneth LLP, an accounting firm headquartered in New York City that provides public and private businesses with a full range of auditing, accounting, tax, consulting, trade remediation and valuation services, as well as litigation and financial advisory services to domestic and international clients.
“I am honored to receive the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award from CPA Practice Advisor,” Thomas said.
“I started my path to the accounting profession at UCO under the terrific leadership of Dr. Katherene Terrell. The accounting program at UCO is one of the best in the country and equipped me with the tools necessary for my success. I am a proud alumnus of UCO.”
Thomas also serves as a faculty member at New York University and is regularly published in nonprofit-related publications, discussing governance and financial reporting challenges faced by the sector.
“I’m very proud of Sibi’s accomplishment,” said Michael McNee, partner-in-charge of the Marks Paneth Nonprofit and Government Group.
“His selection to the CPA Practice Advisor’s 40 Under 40 in the Accounting Profession is a great accolade in recognition of his contributions to our profession. We are fortunate to have Sibi as a partner at Marks Paneth. His skills, paired with his approach to client service, are exemplary of our firm’s culture and core values.”
