Admission

Who Should Apply?

Business majors must apply and be accepted to the College of Business in order to be eligible to take upper-division business core courses and to graduate with a business degree from UCO.

NOTE: Admission to the College of Business is separate from admission to the University of Central Oklahoma.

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the College of Business, students must complete all requirements listed below:

Be admitted to the University of Central Oklahoma

Apply to UCO

Transfer students are required to meet the same criteria for College of Business admission as those students who have attended only the University of Central Oklahoma.

Officially declare a Business major

Students are not eligible to apply for admission to the College of Business until they have officially declared as a business major.

To officially declare as a business major, contact the College of Business Student Success Center at (405) 974-2325 or complete this form.

Transfer credits must be evaluated by the UCO Registrar’s Office and posted in their online UCO record, before applying.

Earn a minimum retention GPA of 2.25 in all coursework

All courses taken at any nationally or internationally recognized and accredited college or university will count toward this calculation.

Students may repeat a course if necessary. Differences in credit hours will affect the GPA calculation (e.g., transferring a two-hour course where UCO requires a three-hour course).

If the student has not yet earned a 2.25 retention GPA, we encourage them to meet with their College of Business advisor to discuss a plan for obtaining the necessary GPA.
