Dr. Warren Dickson teaches management information systems, especially strategy, culture and enterprise architecture. His educational background includes the University of Kansas and the University of Oklahoma, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a Ph.D. in MIS with minors in research methodology and organizational communication.
Dr. Dickson was born in northwest Kansas and spent two years at the University of Kansas before he came to Oklahoma to work when money for college ran out. His career has taken many turns as he has worked as a warehouseman, janitor, security officer, actor, stage manager, receptionist, software consultant, instructor and federal contract manager before becoming a full-time university faculty member. During his time as a needs-assessment contract manager for the State of Oklahoma, he was involved in surveying victims and helping to assess the effects of the 1995 bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City.
He taught for the School of Business at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York before coming to the University of Central Oklahoma in 2000. He lives with his son Michael in Edmond. They have two dogs and a cat.
