Admission Requirements

The PGA Golf Management Program at the University of Central Oklahoma has two requirements for admission:UCO College of Business students in PGA Golf Management program

  • (1) admission to the University of Central Oklahoma, and
  • (2) proof of a twelve or better handicap.

Admissions to the PGA Golf Management Program are accepted for the fall semester only and each incoming class shall be considered a separate cohort for progressing through the levels of the PGM Program.

The PGA limits student admissions to not more than 100 per year with a maximum of 400 students in the program at any given time.

Application and acceptance to the PGA Golf Management Program at UCO must be completed before the last day to enroll in the fall semester of your freshman year.

Admission to the PGA Golf Management Program

Any student applying for admission to the University of Central Oklahoma PGA Golf Management Program should first meet with the Program Staff to gain a full understanding of the demands and requirements of the program.

Once admitted to UCO, students must provide proof of a twelve or better handicap and fulfil all application requirements to be admitted to the PGA Golf Management Program. The maximum handicap criterion is used to ensure that students have the potential to pass the PGA’s Playing Ability Test (PAT).

All students who enter the PGA Golf Management Program are required to pass the PAT prior to graduation.

To pass the PAT, a player must play 36 holes of golf according to USGA rules and score within 15 strokes of the course rating from the middle tees. A student will not be admitted into the PGA Golf Management degree program without having the ability or potential to pass the PAT.
